Here we have a list of the most common frequently asked questions from our customers.
Q. If we've had Termites in the house previously will they come back?
A. Previous termite activity may have left termite mud leads underneath and around your house. These old mud tunnels can be brought back to life with a little bit of work from the next colony. We would strongly suggest an annual termite inspection and for total peace of mind, have a termite management system (termite barrier) installed.
Q. How do I know what Termite Barrier will suit my property?
A. The best and most accurate way is to have one of our senior termite technicians come out for a free onsite quote. From there they can have a look at the construction type of your house and the environment around it.
Q. How long does it take to install a Termite Barrier?
A. Most termite barriers can be installed within 4 hours with two technicians.
Q. My house is built on a concrete slab are we protected from Termites?
A. Houses built on a slab don't have the advantage of subfloor inspections like a stumped house. It only takes a 2mm crack, an oversized plumbing penertration or movement subsidence and termites can enter your house. Newer homes will have a physical termite blanket ontop of the slab. This will push the termites to the outer edge and expose their activity.
Q. How long does a Termite Inspection take?
A. Generally a Termite Inspection will take an hour to be completed. We offer same day reports which will be emailed to clients within a few hours after the inspection.
Q. What equipment is used during a Termite Inspection?
A. Our Termite Inspectors use an array of equipment which may include;
- Thermal Imaging Camera
- Scientific Grade Moisture Meter
- Acoustic Probe
- Video Borescope
- Digital Reporting Software
- High Resolution Digital Camera
Q. Do you charge extra to include the thermal equipment?
A. The thermal camera is used in all our termite inspections at no additional charge.
Q. How can I pay for the Inspection or Treatment?
A. Once the appointment time has been confirmed, you will receive your invoice. It can be paid by the following methods;
- Online via Credit Card
- Online via EFT
- Over the phone via Credit Card
Q. I have a steel framed house, do I still need an annual Inspection?
A. A steel framed house still has many timber elements that can be damaged by termites. So we still recommend an annual termite inspection.
Q. If you find Termites can a treatment be done straight away?
A. All our inspectors are licensed Pest Controllers and can carry out all termite treatments. First they will give a quote and if that is accepted they will go ahead with the treatment.
Q. What is the cost of a Termite Inspection?
A. The termite inspection cost will vary on the size of the house. Prices start at $189 (Inc Gst).
